Emotional Freedom Technique combines tapping on acupressure points while stating your feelings about a particular issue you wish to resolve. Our motto: ‘Try it on everything’ can’t be emphasised enough as I have found that every day different issues come to the fore and become resolved. The Acupressure PointsWe begin by tapping on the side of the hand, while repeating the issue and feelings surrounding it three times. We then select a shortened form of the statement and tap around points on the face, collarbone, under the armpit and top of the head. There are other points we use when the need arises, but all are easily accessible without the need to remove clothing. To help us measure where we start and finish, we assess the intensity of feelings at the beginning before tapping and then again afterwards. It is easiest to use a scale of 0-10, where 0 is zero problem and 10 is full on emotional intensity. |

There are other adaptations of this method, for issues of immense trauma, so as not to engage the client in deep unnecessary emotion, but to still resolve the issue, particularly useful with PTSD. Physical conditions may originally be rooted in emotional difficulty that only the subconscious knows, therefore issues of chronic pain, bone growths and much more can be resolved through EFT. |
